Amiliana 6 Months!

Where has time gone?! my baby girl is already 6 freaking months old!

26 Weeks/6 months ; 06.17.15
18 lbs 12 oz
26 inches

Her eczema still comes and goes. Especially if we don't put the oil on. She has a patch on her neck that gets really bumpy and red and the oil works when we remember to put it on.
She fits in mostly 6-9 months.. I will be fixing all her sleepers by cutting all the feet off and sewing the edges up so they fit her, right now she can't stretch out. lol
I haven't really gotten a size diaper. She is in AIO OS Happy Flutes

Eating
She is now eating 5 ounces every 3 1/2 to 4 hours.  It's usually regular and during the night she is sleeping in 5-6 hour stretches. Only when we don't give a late night (like before we go to bed bottle) is the only time she wakes up in the middle of the night. Lately we haven't been or should I say my mom hasn't because I have been working late nights.

Sleeping
She is still in her rocker. Nap time and bed time. She goes to bed between 6-8 pm and stays asleep waking up one time at 3 am for a bottle then goes back down til about 6 or 7 am.

Nap Time
When she isn't fighting her naps she takes about 1 or 2 good ones. Still the same way if she does nap it'll be around

Milestones
Sitting up on her own for a good hour!
She is blabbing longer and more loud
She hasn't gotten that tooth yet and she hasn't rolled completely still.
Likes
her brother
Riding in the stroller!

Dislikes
Being swaddled *& she always gets out of it!*
NAP TIME !!!
new people. She really doesn't like to be held by new people. We still have problems leaving her with papa.

I made this cute little onsie dress, and I hope to get better at making these and soon open my own shop!

Homemade Baby Food

Today I am going to share with you a couple recipes to make that will last a whole month. The best part is you can make them in one day! Saving time and money!

Obviously you should always consult your own doctor before introducing solid foods to your baby.

Typically, babies who are ready for solid foods…
  • can hold their heads up and sit in an upright position;
  • open their mouths and make a chewing motion and/or reach out for your food;
  • have lost their tongue-thrust reflex, which is the process of pushing foods out of their mouths—it usually disappears between four and six months; and
  • have doubled their birth weight.
I used this as a guide. But you can choose however you'd like to start.

For Amiliana, I chose to do carrots first and have cereal every other day, just so her body can get use to it. We started about a month ago when she turned 4 months because she was definitely ready!

I started with carrots that we bought from the store. In between the carrots we had some cereal as well. The very next week I made her some homemade green beans and squash. We usually have 2 tbsp of a food with the addition 1 tbsp of cereal. She will let us know when she is done and full. Or not even hungry at all. This is the age when You'll be wasting a lot of food. She'll be fussy and you'll think she is hungry but really she is poopy (#parentingfail LOL)

OK back to the food....First your going to go to the grocery store.

What you'll need ;

3 bags of frozen (or fresh) Green Beans
2 bags of Carrots
3 bananas
3 Pears
2lb bag of Peas
2 Sweet Potatoes
(Apples pictured but I didn't make them)

First your going to start by washing everything!!!!

Turn on the oven to 400. Poke holes in Sweet potatoes then wrap in aluminum foil.

Preparing the green beans by steaming them in the bags in the microwave.

While those take about 15 minutes to complete your going to bring 2 pots of water to a boil then add your sweet peas to one.(the other is for your carrots) Cook the peas until soft.

Put the potatoes in the oven (this takes about 45 minutes to be done)

Start on your carrots. You will need to shave and then cut into little pieces. Then put them in a pot of boiling water as well. Cook until soft.

Once the Green beans are done you are going to put them in the food processor. (adding a little water to thin them out, if needed)

Clean the food processor out and put the green beans in your container. I used ice cube trays, Then wrapping them in clear plastic wrap until they are frozen.

Put the peas in the food processor and again using a little water to thin them if needed. After you have done this you will need to get the pea skin out by using a strainer. Then add to ice cube tray.

Clean the food processor and add the carrots. This is a good time to get your sweet potatoes out of the oven and let them cool off.
When the carrots are done you are going to put them in ice cube trays then clean the processor.

Now peel the sweet potatoes so you can drop them in the food processor. Then add those to ice cube trays to freeze.

For the bananas you are going to just mash them when you need them.

When all of your cubes are frozen, I'd give or take about a half day, you plop (yes I said that lol) them right out of the ice cube trays and put them in freezer zip-lock bags and mark what it is and the date. The food will be good in the freezer for about 3 months.

Each cube is about 1-2 oz. I usually put 2-3 cubes for the next day in the fridge the night before to give it time to defrost and be ready to eat. I always forget and I'll have to heat it up in the microwave. BUT make sure to use a glass container and not plastic, also add a drop or two of water so it doesn't dry the food out and burn it!

The only thing I would say that was a negative outcome, would be the dishes you encounter on this journey... Cleaning that processor and the ice cube trays are NOT my favorite! But knowing what my baby is eating, is my favorite part.

Have a DIY Bachelorette Party !

About two weekends ago I hosted a Bachelorette party. I had some idea in this post on how to host a Frugal Bachelorette Party, and I used some of the ideas for the one I just hosted!!

First you have to have these bad boys! They work so well the day after, like a charm!

I made these DIY "Oh SH*T" kits after seeing a bunch online. Of course it depends on how many people you are hosting for. I made about 10 of these so the cost was about $8 for all 10. I went to the Dollar Tree or Walmart for everything. You can see how I made these Hangover Kits here

NEXT; I went on pinterest to use free printables for this project, all I had to do was print, cut, and tape!! I already had the card stock from the latest project.

Next is the sash!

I made this sash from fabric I had at home. I bought the Iron-on letters from Walmart on sale for about $3!

All I had to do was use an old birthday sash and cut the fabric at the same length, iron on the letter and then pin the bottom together!! Simple, easy and still cute!  You can find the DIY sash for any occasion HERE

Next; I went to the store and I bought some "naughty" things like penis ring pops. I used them as decorations in my cupcakes! Of course the cupcakes had to have sprinkles on them! they wouldn't  have been complete.

Next is the tiara! I cold have left it alone, but It had to have the veil, right?! I bought some tulle from the Dollar Tree (and the tiara) tied it to the top like you would a tutu and voula! Next to the you have the light up wedding ring for the bride-to-be in a cupcake as well!

After it was all set up and the balloons were filled... I wrote on some of them, Also drew some naughty things on others!! HA (not pictured) I bought the balloons from the Dollar Tree as well.

EASY, CHEAP AND BEST OF ALL ENTERTAINING!

Of course I would have added games and other things but time got ahead of me and didn't realize how much time I didn't have until it was party time! lol

We had a blast! (even though the wind and our hair didn't mix very well that night) I love these girls!

Easy DIY Sash for any occasion!!

I had to make a sash last week and I am very proud about how it came out!!

What You'll Need ;

Fabric (about 2 yards of 3" wide)
Iron-On Letters
Sewing Machine
Scissors or/and rotary cutter, pins, ruler
Iron

I started with an old sash, If you don't have one, the length was about 2 yards and 3 inches thick. (enough to fit the iron-on letters) I traced the sash and doubled my fabric, then cut it out. *I have also seen ribbon being used too*

This is what the old sash looked like.

My two layers of fabric

Tracing both ends and making the whole thing about 3 inches wide for the iron-on letters to fit properly.

Cut out on the lines.

After cutting it out, I sewed the two pieces right sides together at the very top. NOW it will start looking like a real sash!

Next I turned it back to the stitch was on the inside not showing.  Iron on the letters that you want, using the instructions of the Iron-On letters.

I used BRIDE.

Now pin, tie it up or you can even sew the bottom together and you have finished your project!!

.......please excuse my nails :|

BUT NOW YOUR DONE!

Now enjoy your night ladies!!!

Check out how to make your very own "Oh SH*T" hangover kit too !!
